Get to know us

We are two Spanish sisters, the middle ones out of 6 siblings. Our names are Luz (Light) and Rocio (Dew), hence our business name! Very close from an early age, our paths have always managed to get intertwined. We moved together to Scotland in 1996 but our career paths however, started very differently. Rocio was always interested in arts and crafts and the heritage industries. Thus, she pursued a career in this field after undertaking a Joint Honours degree in History of Art and Archaeology at Glasgow University and a Masters in Architectural conservation at Edinburgh College of Art. This led her to work for Glasgow Museums as a conservation technician in a project restoring Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s Ingram Street Tea-rooms. Then she worked as a project officer for a Glasgow archaeological analytical services company (SASAA) and as a stone conservator for Nicholas Boyes Stone Conservation Ltd, restoring the facades of many buildings in Edinburgh and surrounding areas. Luz on the other hand, comes from a completely different background, having graduated with a Business degree at Malaga University, and a masters degree in Information Technology and Administration at Caledonian University, which led her to work for some prestigious companies such as Abbey National, IBM, NCR and William Grant.

Finding it difficult to work outdoors in the temperamental Scottish weather, and having been left fascinated by the very enjoyable experience of working in the interiors and furniture designed by Mackintosh, in 2007 Rocio decided to go back to training to undertake a course on Furniture Restoration at City of Glasgow College. In a funny twist of fate, round about this time and after a career break travelling through Europe in a caravan with her partner, Luzma returned to Scotland and she took a very unexpected decision to join Rocio on this course. And the rest is history. We both successfully undertook this course and have been working on furniture restoration together since 2011 from our workshop annexed to the house. We absolutely love restoring and renovating furniture for clients, as well working on our own projects for our little online shop. We are currently seeking to get fully accredited by AMUSF (Association of Master Upholsterers and Soft Furnishers) having just completed Level 1 with very high marks. We are hoping to achieve level 2 & 3, although the master upholsterer running the course in Stirling has recently decided to retire and other training centres are too far away, but we remain hopeful. Love learning and traditional upholstery is such a beautiful craft!

Our mission

We're on a mission to keep traditional skills and craftsmanship alive but are not shy to apply modern tools and techniques when necessary as well. Ultimately we want our work to help move away from the current throw away culture that is so harmful for the environment. And in the process we hope to make our clients homes and businesses not only more sustainable, but also more beautiful with unique furniture and accessories.

Our vision

We believe in working to the highest standards, providing great craftsmanship and great customer service. Whether is a fine antique piece of furniture, a modern piece needing refreshed or a more humble heirloom, we strive to work to match the clients needs without compromising quality of work. By repairing and restoring, we not only give furniture a new lease of life but it also becomes bespoke.
