Sold projects
Here we would like to share with you some of the creative projects that we have sold to the public in the past. Most of these have been created from rundown antiques, vintage items and so on, which we have enjoyed restoring, recycling and giving a new lease of life. If you would like us to transform any of your items of furniture or have any other queries about the work that we do, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us.
Hand-painted Kid’s Chair
This is a really cute little chair for a kid’s room was painted in several coats of various shades of yellow and orange in a distressed look. Plant forms were hand-painted on the seat and back rails, inspired by the beautiful patterns of Lucienne Day's 1950s textiles. The chair was also been coated with shellac (French polish) and finished off by waxing. The chair itself was a genuine antique chair, possibly Victorian. It was bought at an antique market in a really poor state of disrepair, the legs having been cut down (possibly the victim of flooding). After fully restoring it we thought it would make a cute kid's chair, having a lovely shape and nice turned legs and rails.
Decoupage side table
This was a cute and bright side table in a very retro style, that was decorated all over with a decoupage technique, using individually hand-cut pieces of an original vintage wallpaper. This had large geometric flowers in a dark brown/greeny colour, with the centre of the flowers and surround in a very pale green. It was finished using a high sheen polyurethane varnish to give it a nice shine and a hard wearing surface that could be easy to clean and maintain. This coating gave it a kind of glazed wet look, and made it look good enough to eat!
